Partnership with Data Points and the FPPL at UGA
Dr. Sarah Fallaw and Dr. John Grable

We’re excited to announce a new partnership between Data Points and the Financial Planning Performance Lab (FPPL) at the University of Georgia and the addition of Dr. John Grable, CFP® and professor of financial planning, to the Data Points advisory board.

UGA’s FPPL is the only applied clinical facility in the nation designed for the purpose of obtaining evidence regarding the effectiveness of the financial planning process. Its research on the interaction between financial planner and client attitudes, behaviors, and physiological well-being complements Data Points’ scientific assessments of client wealth potential.

It is an honor to have the opportunity to partner with this exceptional research facility in the scientific examination of financial planning. The mission of Data Points centers on identifying and developing the potential to accumulate wealth and become financially independent, and the outcomes related to professional financial planning that the FPPL examines are a large piece of the puzzle. As a member of the Data Points advisory board, Dr. Grable’s insight will strengthen our technology and service offerings with leading-edge research in the field of financial planning.

In conjunction with this partnership, Data Points is funding a three-year graduate assistantship in the laboratory and providing the FPPL with access to data and data collection opportunities related to wealth accumulation. Dr. Grable shared his thoughts on the benefits of the partnership for the lab: “By partnering with Data Points, the FPPL can now expand its graduate student research program. This also gives the FPPL an opportunity to use Data Points’ technology-based interventions in the financial planning outreach programs we offer. With our common focus on research, Data Points and the FPPL can study how financial planners and others in financial services can work more effectively with their clients to build wealth.”

We are excited about the future of this partnership for Data Points’ clients and for field of financial planning.
